About Us
Our History
Wetaskiwin Figure Skating Club was formed more than 70 years to share the love of skating within our community. Known today as the Wetaskwin Skating Club, we proud carry on the legacy and the love of skating. Over the years, skating has evolved and programs have expanded to encourage people of all ages to participate in our favourite Canadian pasttime.
2000 – Canadian Figure Skating Association changes its name to Skate Canada and Wetaskwin FSC became proud members of the newly formed national organization.
2017 - CanPOWER Skate offered
2020 - partnered with Special Olympics for Inclusive Skating - introduction to skating
2020 - Wetaskiwin Skating Club was formed to better reflect the various skating programs offered through the Club, including CanSkate, STAR Skate and CanPOWER Skate.
Our Values
At the Wetaskiwin Skating Club, it is our goal to provide our skaters with a high standard of programming and coaching all within a safe, nurturing, and fun environment.
We also believe that giving back to others builds a better community. The Wetaskiwin Skating Club proudly works with other organizations in our community to help make Wetaskiwin a better place to live and play.
